Holy Trinity Scholarship
In response to God’s call to serve others, “The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund” was been established. Members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and all other ELCA Lutheran congregations in Wythe and Bland Counties are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applications and pastoral check-list may be obtained from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or downloaded from below.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school senior who is enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a four–year college, university, community college or person who is a college graduate and has enrolled full-time at a Lutheran Seminary. The seminary scholarship is intended for those transitioning directly from college to seminary. The total scholarship award will be up to $10,000.

The seminary scholarship is intended for those transitioning directly from college to seminary. The total scholarship award will be up to $10,000.
The scholarship award will be distributed as follows:
- Students enrolled in four year colleges, universities or community colleges (other than Wytheville Community College) and Lutheran Seminaries will receive $1,250 at the beginning of the fall and spring semester paid directly to the college, university or seminary. Requests to defer the award for semesters during which a paid internship or co-op experience are included as part of the student’s curriculum will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Students enrolled in Wytheville Community College who are recipients of the Wythe Bland Foundation Scholarship will be awarded up to $1000 per academic year. Up to five hundred dollars ($500) will be provided during the fall and spring semesters of each academic year for the purchase of class textbooks and required supplies eligible for reimbursement with the mandatory, original receipt. Upon transfer to a four year college or university, the remaining balance of the $10,000 will be equally distributed directly to the college or university at the beginning of the remaining fall and spring semesters.
- Requests to defer the award for semesters during which a paid internship or co-op experience are included as part of the student’s curriculum will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Changes in award amounts or use in post-graduate studies for those students successful in dual credit courses during high school and having the potential of completion of their college degrees in fewer than 4 academic years will be evaluated on an individual basis.
